Denene Prophet-Willia <div readability="32">
<p>Denene Prophet-Williams, MBA, MLA, BSN, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer (CNO) at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Prophet-Williams is an accomplished health care executive with a 30-year nursing career, characterized by her exemplary leadership and strategic vision in academic, Magnet-designated and community hospitals. She will begin her new role April 1. </p>
<p>For the past three years, Prophet-Williams has served as the executive director of clinical operations and research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Samuel Oschin Cancer Center in Los Angeles. In this role, she oversees 18 academic and clinical centers with 480 employees under her guidance. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, operational management, human resources, financial oversight and regulatory compliance for the cancer service line. Prophet-Williams’ leadership has been pivotal in implementing strategic initiatives, enhancing patient satisfaction and achieving operational efficiencies.</p>
<p>Prior to her tenure at Cedars-Sinai, Prophet-Williams spent eight years at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she held various leadership positions, including clinical administrative director for stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy/apheresis. Her contributions led to significant improvements in patient care, staff engagement and operational outcomes. </p>
<p>At Fred Hutch, Prophet-Williams will continue to move the center forward in pursuit of strategic goals. </p>
<p>“My highest priority is to lead our nursing staff in a way that is patient-focused, quality-centered and supports our staff,” Prophet-Williams said. “Fred Hutch is an esteemed pillar of cancer care and I’m excited to build on that legacy as we continue to see an increasing need for cancer services in our communities.”</p>
<p>Prophet-Williams’ dedication to nursing excellence extends beyond her professional roles. She is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Nurses Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Additionally, she volunteers her time in various community initiatives, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Star of Hope Mission. </p>
<p>Throughout her career, Prophet-Williams has been recognized for her outstanding achievements, including awards for leadership excellence and patient satisfaction. Her commitment to advancing health care and empowering others through mentorship and advocacy serves as a testament to her passion for nursing and health care leadership.
