Facilitated Wellness Group for BIPOC Postdocs & Grad Students
The Monthly Facilitated Wellness Group is tailored for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) postdoctoral fellows and graduate students affiliated with Fred Hutch and University of Washington. Led by experienced facilitator Rian Roberson, MA LMHC, these gatherings provide a dedicated space for BIPOC individuals to prioritize their health and well-being. Guided discussions delve into topics such as work/life balance, racial/cultural representation, and interpersonal relationships. Sponsored by the Fred Hutch Office of Education & Training, Office of Scientific Career Development, and Basic Sciences Division, this recurring meeting takes place on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. In an effort to enhance accessibility, the group rotates between virtual and in-person sessions at Fred Hutch, ensuring that all participants can engage comfortably. By fostering a supportive community and addressing pertinent issues, the Monthly Facilitated BIPOC Wellness Group aims to empower its members and promote holistic well-being.
