Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) has self-service tools at www.tricare-west.com to help you find important TRICARE information anytime. While some tools are public, you’ll want to log in with your DS Logon to take full advantage of the website. Here are some helpful tips to get you started.
1. All HNFS secure tools require a premium DS Logon. You’ll get this automatically if you used your Common Access Card to get your DS Logon. If you don’t qualify for a DS Logon, you can sign up for an HNFS username at www.tricare-west.com. Keep in mind, if you’ve already registered using your DS Logon, you can’t sign up for an HNFS username.
2.Once you’re logged in, check out all the options under the “Secure Tools” box. You can:
- View eligibility status
- Find deductible and catastrophic cap details
- Manage enrollment payments
- Access authorization letters
- Review explanations of benefits (EOB)
- Check claims status
- Update your other health insuranceHealth insurance you have in addition to TRICARE, such as Medicare or an employer-sponsored health insurance. TRICARE supplements don’t qualify as "other health insurance." information
3.Do you have claims-related questions? Use HNFS’ “Ask Us” option to submit your question. HNFS sends responses to your secure inbox and notifies you via email or text.
4.Disease prevention is key. You can view your preventive care history to find out when your next service is due or when you’re eligible for services.
5.Access important letters through your Secure Inbox.Per TRICARE requirements, HNFS only mails referral and pre-authorization determination letters and individual EOBs on a case-by-case basis. Be sure to set your communication preferences to get a text or an email when you have a new determination letter.
